I asked for feedback from Zoe Routh

Have you ever thought your work was pretty good, but you wanted someone you admire to provide that extra bit of reassurance, so you asked them for feedback?  Congratulations! That’s you asking for Evaluation feedback (does this measure up?) from someone who you have determined is qualified to assess your work. Sometimes it takes courage to do that.

In the process of writing my third book, Feedback Fitness, I asked some friends and family to provide feedback. Of course, they said it was fantastic!

It took courage to ask someone whom I admired, but didn’t know well, who has written the best-selling books, to provide feedback.

I asked Zoe Routh. Zoë Routh is a leadership futurist, podcaster, and multiple award-winning author. She isn’t just any author; her fourth book, People Stuff - Beyond Personality Problems, won the Book of the Year at the Australian Business Book Awards in 2020. So I asked for feedback from the best!

Here’s what she said about Feedback Fitness:

‘Sue Anderson's book is a delight. A good portion of the book explores why we have challenging relationships with feedback, and how we can move gently away from these experiences for a new attitude and approach. She shares different types of feedback: acknowledgment, evaluation and guidance, along with really useful practical tips and language examples to deploy. One of the best parts of the book is about changing our beliefs about feedback, and ourselves. This is a key aspect many ignore: how do we deal with feedback from an emotional and esteem point of view. A valuable addition to the canon around feedback.’

Who are your qualified assessors? Have you asked them for feedback lately?
